Existing Grants
The overall objectives of the Project are to:
(i) Strengthen institutional capacity of Parliament to enable it provide an environment for effective legislative work;
(ii) Build Skills of parliamentarians and parliamentary staff to enable them effectively perform their duties;
(iii) Strengthen Parliamentary Committees to effectively carry out their oversight functions in monitoring reforms and policy implementation; and (iv) Institutionalize gender integration in parliamentary activities.
The project goal is to contribute to national development processes in Burundi. The project specific objectives are to:
(i) Enhance the institutional and human capacity in the public sector for improved economic policy analysis and management;
(ii) Strengthen the Non-State Actors capacity in public policy analysis and assessment, and
(iii) Strengthen IDEC institutional capacity in order to improve its effectiveness in resource mobilization to address sustainability.
The specific objectives of the Program are to:
(i) Improve the skills and competencies in economic policy management; and
(ii) Strengthen the human and institutional capacity of the College of Business and Management Sciences at Makerere University
The project goal is to improve the effectiveness of local governance in Francophone African countries. This will be achieved through the following specific objectives:
(i) To strengthen the capacity of local actors in Francophone African countries to efficiently manage public service delivery
(ii) To enhance the effectiveness of CIFAL in delivering its mandate of capacity building of local actors in Francophone African countries.
The project goal is to promote democracy and ensure participatory governance, accountability and transparency in ECOWAS member countries .This will be achieved through three objectives:
(i) Enhancing institutional and human capacity for media organizations in West Africa
(ii) Strengthening legal protection mechanism for media practitioners, and
(iii) Improving working environment for journalists, by promoting advocacy initiatives for freedom of expression.
The overall development goal of the project is to empower a cadre of specialists who will incorporate gender perspectives/dimensions in peace-building processes in Africa. The immediate objectives to be achieved are the following:
(i) Establish and offer a Masters’ Degree program in Gender and Peace Building for African women and men in order for them to have the requisite skills and tools for designing, managing and implementing conflict prevention and peace building processes with gender perspective, in Africa; and
(ii) Strengthen the capacity of the University of Cheikh Anta Diop of Dakar (UCAD), Femmes Africa Solidarity (FAS) and the University for Peace (UPEACE) to deliver the MA program on gender, conflict management and peace building.
The specific objectives of the project are to:
(i) strengthen the capacity of CEEG to support macroeconomic and sector policy formulation and analysis in Mozambique, and
(ii) Enhance the research and advocacy capabilities of CEEG stakeholders
The goal of project is to improve accessibility to information on human rights promotion among African women’s organizations. Specific objectives of the project are to:
(i) Strengthen the effectiveness of FEMNET to coordinate and support women’s groups and networks in selected countries
(ii) Enhance networking knowledge and experience sharing among women’s groups and networks in selected countries
The project goal is to improve stakeholder engagement, interface and participation in development processes in Southern Africa. The project specific objectives are to:
(i) Improve efficiency and effectiveness of MISA in supporting citizen’s participation in the development process in the targeted countries;
(ii) Facilitate platforms for dialogue between media, public, private sector and government; and
(iii) Enhance knowledge sharing and learning on media, and freedom expression in targeted countries
The project goal is to improve economic performance in Rwanda to achieve the 2020 vision development objectives. The project objectives are to:
(i) Enhance the human and institutional capacity of IPAR for conducting relevant research studies to inform policy-making processes in Rwanda
(ii) Improve the capabilities of state and non-state actors in policy analysis and management
