The African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) will hold its 23rd annual Board of Governors Meeting in Dakar Senegal on 26-27 June. The theme of the meeting is “Building Capacity for Domestic Resource Mobilisation”. At the top of the agenda will be the issue of mobilising resources to further promote capacity development in Africa.
To further strengthen the overall theme of the meeting, three high level dialogues will be held and they include, Building Institutional & Financing Capacity for Domestic Resource Mobilization and Building Capacity to Combat Illicit Financial Flows. The third high level dialogue will focus specifically on the host country, Senegal, on the Monitoring and Evaluation of the Implementation of the plan “Sénégal Emergent”
The high level dialogues are based on the premise that African countries have over the years become concerned with the illicit financial outflows from their countries to developed nations or tax havens. This challenge is increasing, as the African countries try to improve and increase expenditure on education, skills development, infrastructure and promotion of technological progress and innovation. The dialogues will address the challenges, constraints and capacity development dimensions that African countries need to address.
