ACBF is participating in the Partners’ meeting in Abuja. The meeting seeks to
(i) Take stock of progress being made by each Partner in the specific areas of tobacco control at country level;
(ii) Provide an opportunity for Partners to synchronize their activities in order to avoid duplication;
(iii) Enable Partners to strategize on common country issues in response to emerging country level challenges.
The ACBF delegation is led by Dr. Roger Atindehou, the Manager for Operations in East and Southern Africa who is also the Supervising Manager of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) funded tobacco control project, Other members of the delegation are Mr. Dickson Antwi, Senior Program Officer for Nigeria, and Ms Susie Mbouangouore Limbepe, ACBF Tobacco Control Expert.
The other Partners who are participating in the meeting are the Afro Regional Office for World Health Organization (WHO-Afro) and Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (CTFK). Together, these three organization constitute the core BMGF tobacco control project partners in Africa.
