The African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) has expressed its willingness to conduct a capacity needs assessment to identify gaps that would define the kind of human, institutional and technical support required in Malawi.
This was expressed at a consultative meeting between ACBF’s Executive Secretary, Prof Emmanuel Nnadozie, and Malawi’s Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Development, Hon. Goodall Gondwe, on the sidelines of the Financing for Development 3 (FfD3) conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 15 July, 2015.
The Minister requested for ACBF’s technical assistance and expressed the Malawi Government’s commitment to supporting ACBF’s work. Hon. Gondwe also shared insights on some of the technical capacity support that his country would benefit from the Foundations vast experience across the continent.
Prof. Nnadozie also took the opportunity to invite Hon. Gondwe to the upcoming ACBF’s Board of Governors (BOG) annual meeting to be held from 2-4 September 2015 in Addis Ababa. As Minister of Finance, Hon. Gondwe is one of the ACBF’s BOG.
This BOG meeting is critical as it will seek ACBF’s governor’s guidance on the Foundations strategic priorities for the next Strategic Medium Terms Plan IV starting 2017 to 2021.
The Minister was in the company of the Malawian Ambassador to the African Union and Ethiopia, His Excellency, Chimango Chirwa.
