The Executive Secretary of ACBF Prof. Emmanuel Nnadozie visited the West and Central Africa Regional Office in Accra, Ghana on his way to Harare from a meeting in Abidjan with the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr. Daniel Kaberuka. He was warmly welcomed by the Director of Operations Dr. Coffi Noumon and the team and briefed on some of the Office’s planned deliverables, its approach to teamwork as well as logistical constraints stemming from the relocation. The Accra Office is the headquarters of ACBF Operations and is poised to deliver on its mandate and support the Secretariat in building sustainable capacity on the Continent.
The Executive Secretary noted that this Office is ACBF’s first attempt at decentralization in order to scale up engagement and build stronger relationships with partner institutions and projects. He expressed his gratitude to the Government of Ghana and the AfDB for their roles in the establishment of this office. Open and free communication he noted, are important spirits for any organization therefore it is important for the Accra Office to establish systemized and open communication with the Harare Office. The meeting covered areas such as the ongoing visioning exercise, emerging areas of work in capacity building and human resource issues.
In his closing remarks, the Executive Secretary encouraged the team at the Regional Office to continue the good work, be positive and continue to pursue the interest of the Foundation.
